ITINERARY
DAY 1. Arrival at SDQ Airport. Santo Domingo
Welcome to Santo Domingo – the 1st city of all the Americas and the Capital of the Dominican Republic made up of history, culture and traditions. Immerse yourself in real night life of the Dominican capital – a mixture of colonial style with modern Caribbean elegance.

DAY 2. Yamasa Choco, Ceramics and Social Engagements
A Cocoa ranch where a group of chocolateries roast and grind cocoa beans by hand and make chocolate for your enjoyment, while inviting you to be a part of the process. Ceramics workshop, the folk music and African rhythms will let you feel a real Quisqueya citizen.
Small children of local neighborhoods are taught to dance original music of their ancestors to preserve cultural traditions and social development. Let’s explore a real life and traditions of Yamasa neighborhoods.

Step into the everyday social life of Santo Domingo by exploring its vibrant neighborhoods and tight-knit communities. Visit a local supermarket to see daily life in motion, walk through residential areas that reflect the city’s unique spirit, and connect on a deeper level by spending time at a home for children without parental care (Orphanage residential institution) . There, you’ll have a chance to draw, play, and share a joyful snack with the kids—an experience that fosters empathy, connection, and mutual understanding across cultures and social development.

Our day also includes a meaningful eco-voluntourism activity. With local enthusiasts, we will visit one of the region’s beaches to participate in a community-led beach cleanup initiative.

IMPORTANT TO KNOW
All booking requests are accepted via email book@academtours.com only.
A College or University group leader/ representative can mail a request for booking or amending the tour due to Educational establishment requirements.
A 10% prepayment is required to confirm your booking.
You can cancel your booking up to 45 days prior the 1st tour date but the prepayment will not be refundable. No refund applies for cancellations within 15 days prior the 1st tour date.
Any payment must be done in USD via bank wire transfer to the account under the name of our company PRO ACADEM TOURS RD SRL indicated in our official invoice.
Prepayment of 10% is to be done upon confirmation. The remain balance should be done at least 15 days before group arrival.
Medical and Travel insurance are not included. All travelers are required to have adequate and valid international travel insurance covering medical and personal accidents, as well as repatriation costs and emergency evacuation.
Citizens of many different countries are not required visa to enter the Dominican Republic. But there are some as Venezuela, Cuba, Haiti, China, Belarus, India and others are required to have visa. Please, be sure you are not required visa depending on your citizenship.

- Rates for accommodation in a SGL Room or 3rd person in a DBL room are on request.
- This tour is for adults 18+ ONLY
- Extra nights in Santo Domingo Hotel are on request. In case you have purchased this tour and need an extra night or additional transportation (a transfer) upon arrival or departure you can get a special rate for the services.
Health condition & Dietary requirements
- In case you have dietary requirements and are concerned about whether this may impact on your ability to participate fully in all food-related activities on this trip, please consult it with your booking agent so it can be determined whether your dietary requirements can be met.
- Pregnant women cannot participate in this tour.

Force Majeure
The hosting party will not be liable for any failure to perform its obligations and refunds due to, unforeseen circumstances or causes beyond the Party’s reasonable control. Such circumstances include, but are not limited to any climate changes as rainy weather, natural disaster as hurricane, governmental restrictions, war, strikes, accidents or any other similar events. We monitor these situations as they arise and amend itineraries or activities as necessary.
