Bayahibe is a small and charming fishing village, of approximately 6000 inhabitants, located about 10 miles (16km) from the city of La Romana, the famous Casa de Campo Resort, and La Romana International Airport. The village is known for its beautiful sunsets, numerous seaside small restaurants, and white sand beaches. One of the most popular is the Dominicus Beach with many hotels and resorts. A lot of tourists from Punta Cana (1-hour drive) also visit the bay of Bayahibe as a departure point for boat and catamaran trips to Saona and Catalina Islands.
